7-Day High-Protein Diet Meal Plan

Summer is an ideal season for light, protein-packed recipes, and seafood is a particularly good choice. If you have access to fresh-caught fish or good local markets—like many who live near Long Island do—you’ll find the flavors just sing this time of year. Whether using fresh or frozen seafood, these meals deliver satisfying protein and bright, seasonal flavor.

Try recipes such as Healthy Cod Fish Tacos, Flounder Piccata or Fish with Tomato Sauce, White Wine and Capers. Each is designed to be flavorful, relatively simple to prepare, and generous in protein to support active days and muscle recovery.

Update About New WW Points Plan

Weight Watchers recently updated its Zero Point foods (oatmeal is now included), and I’m gradually updating all recipes to reflect the new plan. I’ve already updated recipes from 2018 through 2025. If you use the WW Recipe Builder on your phone, each Skinnytaste recipe will automatically show the updated points.

Why a High-Protein Plan?

I’ve followed a high-protein approach for several years to support muscle gain and overall satiety, and it’s made a noticeable difference. Eating more protein helps me feel full longer, reduces cravings for sweets and chips between meals, and supports strength gains from exercise. Many people struggle to meet daily protein targets, so this meal plan focuses on balanced, protein-forward meals that are simple to prepare.

A practical way to meet protein goals is to spread intake across meals and snacks. For example, a daily target of 120 grams of protein can be reached by aiming for roughly 30–40 grams at each main meal and including protein-rich snacks that add 10–30 grams throughout the day. If you’re unsure how much protein you need, consult a registered dietitian or a reputable nutrition resource for personalized guidance.

How the Plan Works

These meal plans are intended as flexible guides. Breakfasts and lunches Monday through Friday are portioned for one person; dinners and weekend meals are sized for a family of four. Many recipes yield leftovers suitable for another night or for lunches the next day. The shopping list covers everything needed to prepare the week’s meals. Customize the plan by swapping recipes, adding snacks, beverages, fruit, or dessert to meet your calorie and macro goals.

As a general benchmark, aim for at least 1,500 calories per day if you are a woman and your goals align with that guideline, but individual needs vary with age, activity level, and health goals. Consult a nutrition professional for tailored recommendations.

Important Note

If you have kidney or liver disease, gout, certain metabolic disorders, or reduced kidney function with age, you may need to limit protein intake. Always check with a healthcare provider or registered dietitian before significantly changing your protein intake, especially if you have underlying medical conditions.
