7 Day High Protein Diet Meal Plan
The holidays don’t mean abandoning your protein goals. With a bit of planning — watching portions, scheduling meals when convenient, and adding extra steps like brief walks — you can enjoy seasonal favorites while staying on track. A high-protein eating pattern can support metabolism, muscle maintenance, and blood sugar balance. Recommended daily protein varies by age, body weight, activity level, and goals; spreading protein evenly across meals and including protein-rich snacks makes reaching targets easier.
Why Choose a High-Protein Approach?
I’ve followed a higher-protein approach for several years to support muscle gain and overall satiety, and it’s made a big difference. Increasing protein at meals helps reduce frequent snacking on high-sugar or high-fat foods and supports recovery after workouts. If you struggle to meet your protein targets, try dividing your daily goal across three main meals and adding snacks with 10–30 grams of protein as needed.
For example, if your goal is around 120 grams of protein daily, aim for roughly 30–40 grams at each main meal and include protein-rich snacks between meals. Consult a registered dietitian or healthcare provider to determine the appropriate protein intake for your individual needs, especially if you have health concerns.
How the Plan Works
This meal plan is a flexible guide with room to personalize. You may add beverages, fruits, coffee, additional snacks, or desserts as desired. Meals Monday through Friday breakfasts and lunches are scaled for one person; dinners and the weekend are scaled for a family of four. Some recipes intentionally yield leftovers for another dinner or next-day lunch. Aim for at least 1,500 calories per day as a baseline recommendation for many adults, but your needs may be higher or lower depending on your goals, age, and activity level. Always consult a professional for individualized guidance.
Important Health Note
People with kidney or liver disease, gout, certain metabolic conditions, or older adults with reduced kidney function may need to limit protein. Before significantly increasing protein intake, talk to your healthcare provider or dietitian to ensure it’s safe for you.
