Why High Protein?

A high-protein eating pattern supports muscle maintenance, promotes satiety, and helps curb cravings between meals. Many people find that distributing protein across meals and snacks makes it easier to hit daily goals without feeling deprived. For example, if your target is 120 grams of protein per day, aim for roughly 30 grams at each main meal and add protein-rich snacks that provide 10–30 grams as needed.

If you’re unsure how much protein you need, consult a dietitian or use a reliable nutrition resource to estimate intake based on your age, activity level and goals.

How It Works

This meal plan is a practical guide with flexibility built in. Breakfasts and lunches Monday–Friday are planned as single servings; dinners and weekend meals are sized for a family of four. Swap meals, add beverages, fruit or snacks, and adjust portion sizes to meet your calorie and protein targets. As a general guideline, many women find a baseline of around 1,500 calories per day appropriate, but individual needs vary widely—consult a nutrition professional for personalized advice.

Health Note

People with kidney or liver disease, gout, certain metabolic disorders, or older adults with reduced kidney function may need to limit protein. Consult your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian before increasing protein intake significantly if you have any medical concerns.
