Oven knobs often get ignored in the kitchen, yet they can quickly become sticky and dirty. If you cook a lot, they can get really grimy with oily splatters. However, with a little vinegar and just five minutes, you can clean them up and make them look brand new!
Why Clean Range Knobs?
Besides getting sticky from oil and dirty hands, touching range knobs can spread germs just like when you touch your microwave keypad. To stay safe, make sure to deep clean your oven knobs often.
What Will You Need?
- 3-4 cups of vinegar
- A bowl big enough for all your oven knobs
- A spray bottle with a mix of half vinegar, half water, and a few drops of essential oil (tea tree, eucalyptus, lemon, or lavender are good for cleaning)
How to clean oven knobs
- Take the knobs off your oven (they usually pop off easily) and soak them in a bowl of white vinegar for 5 minutes.
- Spray a mix of vinegar and water (or just vinegar if the smell is okay) on the stove where the knobs were and let it sit for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Use a sponge or microfiber cloth to clean off any leftover dirt.
- Rinse the knobs with water and a little dish soap, then let them dry completely before putting them back on the oven.
