There is a sublime, a grand meaning behind life. It is something more than the mere round of eating, drinking and sleeping. The real life is eternal life in Atman or Spirit, a life of perfect freedom, fearlessness and bliss. It is a state of Immortality and Supreme Peace.
Life in this world is chaotic, fragmentary and full of unrest. The cause of suffering is the desire to enjoy the sensual objects of this world. This desire for enjoyment is due to the ignorant belief that happiness is outside you.
Seek to cultivate a condition where you are no longer frightened by the complexity of life, but indeed are thrilled by the challenge of trying to truly understand it.
A happy life must be to a great extent a quiet life, for it is only in an atmosphere of quiet that true joy can live.
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.
You don’t get to choose how you’re going to die or when. You can only decide how you are going to live.
Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.

The Higher Life is higher living in thought, word, and deed, and knowledge of these Spiritual Principles, which are imminent in man and in the universe can only be acquired after discipline in the pursuit and practice of Value.
Life is still the greatest of games you can play. But you must play to win in every minute of it, with every move on the board … Look up on all your difficulties not as stumbling blocks to trip you up, but as things waiting to be conquered.
The overvaluation of money, status, and competition poisons our personal relations. The flourishing life cannot be achieved until we moderate our desires and see how superficial and fleeting they are.
All human beings seek the happy life, but many confuse the means – for example, wealth and status – with that life itself. This misguided focus on the means to a good life makes people get further from the happy life. The really worthwhile things are the virtuous activities that make up the happy life, not the external means that may seem to produce it.
The lessons which life, guided by infinite intelligence and invested with infinite power as it is, seeks to make available to us through the turning wheel of destiny may bring suffering but they also bring the wisdom which will shield us from suffering in the future.
Life is a series of lessons. Some are diligent in learning them, and they become pure, wise, and altogether happy. Others are negligent, and do not apply themselves. They remain impure, foolish, and unhappy.
The good news is that the best season of your life can be ahead of you no matter what your age or circumstances – if you choose to make it so – because 90 percent of your potential is not only untapped, but also undiscovered. That’s not just news, it’s incredible news!
To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming, is the only end of life.
God asks no man whether he will accept life. That is not the choice. You must take it. The only choice is how.
One cannot participate in this mysterious act of living with any hope of satisfaction unless one understands a few simple rules.

Have a purpose in life, and having it, throw into your work such strength of mind and muscle as God has given you.
The important thing is not how long we live, but what we do in the time allotted to us.
Most people live – whether physically, intellectually or morally – in a very restricted circle of their potential being. We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon of which we do not dream.
